This week we celebrate Valentine’s Day and Love is in the air. However, the most important love of your life is YOU. Do you love who you are on the inside-out?
Loving yourself is about taking a realistic look in the mirror and accepting and loving the person that you see reflected back to you. None of us are perfect, but we need to learn to accept and cherish who we are. It is often our flaws that make us unique and special. We are all perfectly imperfect human beings.
To practice loving yourself, close your eyes, access the feelings you experience when you love your pet, your significant other, your child, or your good friend? How do you feel when you see them? Anchor that feeling! The same efforts you take to help them make their life more enjoyable, relate to yourself in the same way.
This Valentine’s Day, regardless of what you are doing with the other people in your life, take a moment and do something for yourself as well. Do something that makes you smile. Be good to your body by eating something healthy, create practices that nurture and quiet your mind, Heal the past, and let go of all of the habits and patterns keeping you stuck in place.
Take care of YOU and make sure that you truly appreciate who you are and what you’ve done in your life.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
